Immerse yourself in the enchanting glow of Loy Krathong at Wat Arun Ratchawararam.
With twinkling lights reflecting off the Chao Phraya River and the majestic Wat Arun prang shimmering brilliantly, the scene is nothing short of breathtaking. As one of Bangkok’s most iconic landmarks, Wat Arun is a beloved destination for the annual Loy Krathong festival.

Originally named Wat Makok, the temple was renamed Wat Chaeng during the Thonburi period by King Taksin the Great. After extensive renovations in the reign of King Rama II, it was given its current name, Wat Arun Ratchawararam.
On Loy Krathong night, Wat Arun is adorned with thousands of lanterns, creating a romantic and unforgettable ambiance. Beyond being a time to pay respects to the Mother of Waters, Loy Krathong at Wat Arun offers a serene and beautiful evening experience. Visitors can enjoy cultural performances, traditional music, and explore a vibrant night market filled with food and souvenirs.

The Loy Krathong event at Wat Arun Ratchawararam will take place from November 14-16, 2024. Highlights include an interactive Loy Krathong experience, traditional Thai and international dance performances, and picturesque photo opportunities with the Wat Arun prang as a backdrop.
